After visiting Bernice Johnson, a VITAS Hospice Care patient in Waterbury, I learned about a confusing new Medicare Part D policy for hospice patients, their families, and medical providers. I went back to Washington and successfully advocated for changes to ensure that patients receive the medications they so desperately need for end-of-life care.
