U.S. Rep. Elizabeth Esty on Thursday called on the House to “do its job” and pass the Employment Non-Discrimination Act.
“This bill is not only bipartisan, but it upholds and advances fairness and equality – our most fundamental values as Americans,” Esty said. “Let’s pass this bipartisan bill in the House to ensure that our friends, families, and neighbors don’t have to face discrimination at the workplace just because of who they are or who they love.”
Esty spoke last month at the national PFLAG convention in Washington, discussing her early activism against discrimination.
“This is a cause that is incredibly personal to me and my family,” Esty told the Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays.
