WASHINGTON, DC – This morning, Congresswoman Esty (CT-5) signed a discharge petition that would enable a majority of House members to bypass Speaker Boehner and force an up-or-down vote to reopen the government. The petition, which was introduced by Reps. Chris Van Hollen, George Miller, and Nita Lowey, requires a majority of House Members to sign in order to force a vote.
